Plans to Deliver 50 New Homes in Tameside

12 January 2024 | Projects | By Nick Brown

We are thrilled to be working alongside Cube Homes on yet another Development.

The development site sits east of Huddersfield Road and is located 8km north west of the market town of Ashton-under-Lyne. It is within easy reach of various schools, namely Mossley Hollins High School that was previous sited on the development.

The site is well served by local amenities, a local convenience store, chemists, post office and medical practice.

The site has good access to public transport facilities including the Mossley Rail station and is within walking distance to local schools, nursery’s and other community facilities demonstrating that the site is within a sustainable location.

A review of local built character played an important role during the design, and development of the site, ensuring that the proposals compliment the existing character of Mossley, whilst creating a distinct sense of place.

The Site is for residential development, seeking approval for the construction of 50no. open market, and affordable residential dwellings, comprising a mix of 3 & 4 bedroom dwellings.

The residential mix has been carefully thought through, ensuring that a sustainable, and well-balanced neighbourhood is created, which offers a mix of smaller starter homes, and larger family homes.

The proposed housing mix, typology, sizes, layouts, and style are appropriate for the local market, and will fit comfortability within the local context.

The scheme will deliver 10no. properties as affordable tenure (equating to 20% of the units across the Site). All properties will be constructed in a consistent style, creating a seamless and coherent development, which does not differentiate between tenures.

The design concentrates on creating successful ‘places’ for people. Building layout and style, hard and soft landscape, highway design, and use of materials, all work together within the development to create a cohesive overriding character, and sense of community. These elements have taken local context into account to ensure that the design will fit harmoniously into its surroundings.

We look forward to seeing the development progress!!
