We are delighted to have received planning approval for the development of 120 New Homes at Lickers Lane, Knowsley.
The Site forms part of the Halsnead Garden Village Masterplan for up to 1,600 dwellings.
The Site is located in Whiston, Merseyside within the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley. With Huyton Village, approximately 3.6km to the west, this will offer a variety of local amenities and facilities to residents.
The scheme will offer open market, and affordable residential dwellings, comprising a mix of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom apartments and houses. The residential mix has been carefully thought through with Countryside Partnerships, ensuring that a sustainable, and well-balanced neighbourhood is created, offering a mix of smaller starter homes, and larger family homes. The housing mix, typology, sizes, layouts, and style are appropriate and will support local housing needs.
There is a key focus on improving the energy performance of the development which will follow the latest guidance to reduce CO2 emissions by providing a ‘building fabric-led’ approach to meet and exceed, where possible, the current Part L Building Regulations, with insulation standards, thermal bridging and air leakage all improved beyond the minimum compliance levels.
The design concentrates on creating successful ‘places’ for people. Building layout and style, hard and soft landscape, highway design, and use of materials, all work together within the development to create a cohesive overriding character, and sense of community. These elements have taken local context into account to ensure that the design will fit harmoniously into its surroundings.
An important design feature was that the development had a real feeling of quality, whilst respecting local and emerging built form and character. The scheme has been designed to feature two character areas, which have distinct and independent architectural style.
As the development has reached its next milestone the hard work continues. We look forward to seeing the site progress over the coming months.
