This week in Meet The Team we have our Business and Finance Controller –Nicholas Brown.

Tell me about your professional / Academic Background? –
Having studied in Sport at Sixth Form to working in private Healthcare, Architecture and construction is still very new to me. I moved into an Administration role at the Wilmslow Hospital working with Elite Athletes and Professional Sports Clubs. This is where I became passionate about working with people and looking to help business grow and develop. Transitioning into my role here at MPSL, I am learning new things every day and growing alongside the company.

What’s the most motivating factor that keeps you passionate about your work? –
The developments we work on don’t just provide new homes but a new sense of community around them. It is amazing to see the smiles on families faces as they collect their keys to a new home, or the team seeing a site go from a concept to the final product. It is great to be apart of these projects as they develop, all the hard work put in by everyone involved is really inspiring.

What do you do for fun? –
I try to get as much into my free time whenever I can. I try to get in the gym consistently as well as play football on a Saturday. However, with a 2-year-old son at home a lot of my fun is spent with him. Whether that be going to the park or going swimming he definitely keeps the energy levels high at a weekend.

If you could give your younger self one piece of career advice, what would it be? – Learn to enjoy the uncomfortable situations. There’s nothing worse than be in a situation where you don’t know the answer or don’t understand a certain topic, but the more you embrace those challenges the more likely you are to learn and develop.

What makes MPSL different from other Architects? –
To me it is the attention to detail, being able to use our years of experience to take any site and turn it into something really special. No matter the challenges, we are able to over come them with a solution-based approach. Always striving to work closely with others throughout the development and construction phases. It is also the team, since joining the MPSL family they have been nothing but great mentors. Throughout the company everyone looks to push our brand and services to the next level. I have been able to learn so much in short period of time because of them.

This week in Meet the Team we have our Company Architect –

Tell me about your professional / Academic Background? –
I graduated university in Cyprus and have a diploma in Architecture Engineering, which is equivalent to a Masters degree. I’m a charted Architect, registered with both ARB and RIBA, and currently in the process of being certified as a Principal Designer.

What’s the most motivating factor that keeps you passionate about your work? –
I find motivation in trying new things and working on new projects, the uniqueness of each project and client is what keeps things interesting.

What do you do for fun? –
I like to combine fun and exercise in my free time by doing aerial silks and other circus activities.

If you could give your younger self one piece of career advice, what would it be? –
If I could give my younger self a piece of advice it would be to start an internship before going to university and gather as much experience as possible and don’t be afraid to ask more questions.

What makes MPSL different from other Architects? –
Working closely with our clients and always trying to find the optimal solutions without sacrificing aesthetics or functionality
