In early 2020 MPSL were appointed to provide a full Design and Technical package for Forge New Home’s first development on Hallgate Lane, Pilsley. This scheme will provide mixed tenure, 98no new homes and associated public open space with 40% offered as affordable.

Following on from our client brief, we produced an initial sketch schemes and housing designs for appraisal purposes, once signed off, we worked closely with the wider team to provide a planning application package and house type portfolio to ensure the most efficient use of the land.

As the nature of this development is to bring affordable and quality new homes to Derbyshire, it was important to use the space effectively, as all profits made are re-invested to the 5 housing associations who make up Forge New Homes.

Working in collaboration with the design team, we produced a full Technical package including all house type working drawings, construction details and all other associated drawings.

Construction has been progressing well on site, with the show homes opened in October 2022, keeping the development on track for completion for December 2024.

This development is Forge New Homes’ first landmark scheme, backed by housing providers – Great Places Housing Group, Yorkshire Housing, Together Housing Group, South Yorkshire Housing Association, and The Guinness Partnership. With the wealth of knowledge from the joint partnership and the focus on Sheffield City Region, this development will just be the start of great things to come for the area and a very much needed boost to the housing shortages within Forge New Homes’ operating area.
